Unprofane is a service of Tomer N. Marketing and Sales Ltd, company number 516555604, 6 HaTapuach Street, Beit Shemesh 9955606, Israel. Using the API or the dashboard means you agree to these terms.
Access to an API that answers one question about a text: should it be allowed. The answer comes with the evidence and a censored version. You get a dashboard, API keys, per-project settings and lists, and the documentation. Nothing physical is sold. The engine is software: it makes mistakes, it says which route answered and how sure it is, and you decide what your product does with the answer.
Each plan includes a number of checks per month, listed on the pricing page. A check is one text item: each item in a batch counts, a cached answer counts, and a request that fails validation does not. An account's test keys share one cap of 100 checks a day, on every plan and without one; they are never billed, and on the Research plan they count toward the allowance. An account without a plan has test keys only: its live and publishable keys are not answered until it chooses a plan. Test keys are for building and testing, not for serving a product's users. The Research plan is granted by application for studying text, not for serving a product's users; a grant runs for the months stated when it is approved, and the account has no plan after it, with an email beforehand. The Research plan stops at its allowance until the month resets. A paid plan continues past its allowance and bills the extra at the plan's per-check rate on the same invoice; you are emailed at 80% and at 100% of the allowance. If you set a spend cap, live and publishable keys stop being answered once the period's overage reaches it, until the period resets or you raise it. Bursts are limited per key per minute as the plan states.
Dodo Payments runs the checkout, charges the card and any tax, issues the receipt and makes any refund; Unprofane never sees your card details. A plan renews monthly until you cancel. An introductory discount, where one is offered, applies to the plan's price for the months it states and is shown at checkout before you pay. The price and any tax are shown before you pay. Your first payment on a plan can be refunded in full within 14 days. Cancel any time; the plan runs to the end of the period you paid for. If a renewal payment fails you keep the plan for 7 days while the card is retried, with an email at each step; after that the plan ends and the account has no plan: its live and publishable keys stop being answered until you choose a plan again, and its test keys keep working. Full detail is in the refund policy.
The text you send is your users' and yours. We process it to answer the request and keep none of it: it is not written to a database, a cache, a log or a trace. The one exception is text you attach to a correction on purpose, which is stored with your account so we can act on it, and deleted with the account. The privacy page says what is kept and for how long, and the data processing terms set out our role as your processor.
Keep secret keys on your servers and out of browsers and app builds; a publishable key with an origin allowlist is for browsers. Use the API within the acceptable use policy. Do not send text you have no right to process. If you build a product for children, the API is one control among those the law asks of you, not a substitute for them.
We publish the benchmark the engine is measured on, with its false-positive rate, and we date every engine version so a behaviour change is a new version you can choose when to adopt. We do not promise that every profane string is caught or that no innocent one is flagged, that the model tier is always available (when it is not, the rules answer and the response says so), or a specific uptime figure. The status page shows our own measurements.
Our liability to you for any period is limited to what you paid us for that period. We are not liable for what your users write or for decisions your product takes on our answers. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law. These terms are governed by the law of the State of Israel.
You can delete your account from the dashboard at any time; everything under it is gone within 24 hours. We can suspend keys that break the acceptable use policy, with an email saying why, and we can retire the service with ninety days' notice and a refund of any unused prepaid period.
If these terms change, the date below changes with them and paying customers are emailed. Questions go to hello@unprofane.com.
